Messy Legends follows a pack of wayward millennials as they careen through one chaotic night on Montreal’s Plateau strip, each chasing their own regressive, nostalgia‑soaked quest and losing the plot in spectacular fashion. Loud, unruly, and propelled by a banging original soundtrack, the film channels the delirious momentum of a party that never quite ends. Shot guerrilla‑style on a micro‑budget and performed by a mix of seasoned actors and not‑so‑seasoned artist friends, the film plunges straight into the grime, glow, and unpredictable humanity of Montreal nightlife.

Created by Voyeurism—a filmmaking duo and band from Montreal comprised of Kelly Kay Hurcomb and James Watts—Messy Legends is a full‑throttle synthesis of their recent work, expanding on their 2023 short Messy Legend, which screened at Fantasia (winning the INIS Creativity Prize), Mammoth Lakes, Midwest Weird Fest, and more. The feature premiered at the 2025 Fantasia International Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Best Quebec Feature – Gold.
