We regret to announce that the live cinema event of “Sufferrosa” will be canceled during the scheduled dates of the film festival. The film’s director and live presenter, Dawid Marcinkowski, will not be able to attend due to unforeseen events. The filmmakers and the Tallahassee Film Festival are committed to bringing this unique and exciting event to the Tallahassee audience, and are working to reschedule it for a date outside of the festival. Stay tuned!

“As the Chair of the Board of Directors of The Tallahassee Film Festival, it is important to maintain the integrity and reputation of our organization.
No entry in the 48-hour Film Contest, which did not adhere to the published rules and guidelines will be eligible to receive prizes in the contest.
While the contest coordinators wish to celebrate the artistic achievements of all entrants, the rules of the contest will be honored.”
Voting has begun for the Tallahassee Film Festival’s 4th Annual 48-hour film contest. Family, friends and the community at large are encouraged to view the film entries and vote for your favorite from now until April 8 at our sponsor site www.Tallahassee.com/filmfestival.
The film with the most votes will be selected to receive the Audience Choice Award during the TFF Awards Ceremony at Mission San Luis on Saturday, April 9 and will also be shown during the Best of the Fest screening at the Regal Miracle Theatre on Sunday, April 10.
Awards and a cash award will also be given to two other films. This year the contest takes a new and refreshing turn; there has been a revamping of the competition categories to include:
Independent Filmmakers Category (IFC) This category welcomes those enthusiasts with semi-professional, amateur and novice knowledge of filmmaking.
Students Category (SC) This category is open for students at the high school and college level who are keen in making their artistic presence be noticed.
Sponsored by TFF and Tallahaassee.com, the 48-hour film contest gives filmmakers a chance to show their talent and have fun while they script, shoot, and edit a five-minute film. A theme, prop, and line of dialogue were revealed Friday, March 18 and filmmakers were given until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20 to submit films.

Director Justin Hunt and Metallica front man interviewed on national news program
Be sure to check out Justin Hunt, director of Absent, on Fox & Friends: http://fxn.ws/eQPTr2. He appeared with James Hetfield of Metallica, one of the stars of the documentary.
Hunt is presenting Absent at the Tallahassee Film Festival Saturday, April 9 at 3PM at the Regal Miracle 5 Theatre. He and music supervisor, Michael Davenport will be available for a Q & A session after the film.
A father of two himself, Hunt’s Absent is a documentary concerning disengaged fathers and the mark they are making on our global society and the future of our planet.
“Nothing is more important to a young man, or a young woman, than a father’s love, respect and acceptance. And nothing is more damaging than when the question ‘Am I good enough?’ is asked of the father by the child, and the answer is silence,” said Hunt.
