TFF 2011

TFF announced two film selections, special award winners and the festival presenting sponsor

The Tallahassee Film Festival (TFF) announced two film selections, special award winners and the festival presenting sponsor at the “I ♥ Tallahassee Film Festival” event on February 11, 2010.

Film Selections

Two buzz-worthy films will be screened at the 2010 TFF thanks to the Florida State University’s Torchlight program:

Collapse – an official selection of the 2009 Toronto Film Festival, is a documentary/horror film directed by Chris Smith. Roger Ebert gave the movie four stars, and TIME Magazine has called it “hypnotic and haunting.”

Thespians – directed by Warren Skeels, is a documentary film following high school theatre troupes as they audition, rehearse and compete in the largest high school theatre festival in the world. The film has yet to be released to the public.

Special Awards

Congratulations to the 2010 Tallahassee Film Festival special awards recipients!

Don Ungurait, winner of the Lifetime Performance Award
Barry Jenkins, winner of the Distinguished Achievement Award, and
Eyad Zahra, winner of the Emerging Filmmaker Award

TFF is proud to announce that these talented and respected filmmakers will be making appearances at the festival for networking, lectures and workshops.

Presenting Sponsor

The Tallahassee Film Festival is proud to announce that Florida Commerce Credit Union will be the festival’s 2010 Presenting Sponsor.  FCCU, an award-winning state chartered credit union, has been the presenting sponsor of TFF since its inception in 2008.

“Florida Commerce is proud to be the Tallahassee Film Festival’s presenting sponsor for the third year in a row,” said Samantha Strickland, Vice President of Growth and Brand Management for the Credit Union.  “We believe the festival is a strong catalyst in helping reinvigorate our economy and is a shining example of the culture and art that can be found in Tallahassee.”
